Here is a look at all the new features coming together with MoCapade 3.0:
Armed with this feedback, we’ve continued building and launching improvements throughout the year. And today we are unveiling our latest efforts with MoCapade 3.0.
And, all of this, just from a single video. Any video. Even moving handheld cameras, phones and awkward angles!

✅ For best results, make sure the video clearly shows the person’s full body in motion—not just their face or upper body.
❌ Facial animations are not yet supported on the platform. We are still working on facial animations.
MoCapade captures full-body movement, not facial animation (yet!). For best results, make sure the video clearly shows the person’s full body in motion—not just their face or upper body. Ideally, both the upper and lower body should be visible during the action.
✅ Make sure your subject is well-lit
❌ Bad lighting can reduce motion tracking accuracy.
While MoCapade works well in everyday environments, clear and consistent lighting still helps improve motion tracking accuracy. Make sure your subject is visible without heavy shadows or extreme backlighting. A well-lit room or outdoor setting with even light is enough—no studio setup needed!
✅ The camera doesn’t have to be stationary, but make sure the footage isn’t too shaky or blurry.
❌ Quick pans, shaky shots can reduce motion tracking quality. They can still produce results, but the accuracy may drop.
To ensure smooth and accurate motion capture, avoid fast camera movements during recording. Quick pans, shaky footage, or sudden zooms can interfere with tracking and reduce the quality of the captured motion. For best results, keep the camera steady and let the subject’s movement be the focus—not the camera’s. Using a tripod or stable surface can significantly improve capture consistency.
✅ One continuous camera recording of a person walking or dancing
❌ Edited videos with camera cuts, transitions, or multiple angles
Avoid videos with shot changes (e.g. cuts, transitions, or edits). MoCapade currently processes motion best from a single, uninterrupted shot. If your video includes multiple shots, we recommend splitting it into individual scenes using a basic video editor or a tool like scenedetect.com. You can then process each scene separately in MoCapade for the best results.
